Assigned stay and physical kennel
Sort arrivals then input order. Assign the first allowed physical unit free for the whole stay; arrival is inclusive and departure exclusive.
Animals not assigned
Stays that cannot use a compatible unit under this greedy order.
Peak requested daily occupancy
Count all requested stays on each day from first arrival to last departure.
Peak assigned daily occupancy
Count assigned stays on those same days.
Unassigned animal-days
Sum duration of wholly unassigned stays; partial stays and relocations are not attempted.
