Examples
Examples
Try the starting example
- Rooms: name, unique code, box count
- Kitchen,K,2 Bedroom,B,1
- Move label prefix
- SF
- Minimum digit padding
- 3
- Unique box identifiers
- SF-K-001, SF-K-002, SF-B-001
- Box identifier count
- 3
- Room index
- Kitchen (K): SF-K-001 to SF-K-002; Bedroom (B): SF-B-001 to SF-B-001
Try another scenario
- Rooms: name, unique code, box count
- Kitchen,K,2 Bedroom,B,1
- Move label prefix
- MOVE
- Minimum digit padding
- 2
- Unique box identifiers
- MOVE-K-01, MOVE-K-02, MOVE-B-01
- Box identifier count
- 3
- Room index
- Kitchen (K): MOVE-K-01 to MOVE-K-02; Bedroom (B): MOVE-B-01 to MOVE-B-01
Calculation method
Calculation method
Unique box identifiers
Uppercase each room code and combine prefix-code-sequence, starting at 1 for each room. Pad the sequence to the supplied minimum digits without truncating longer numbers.
Box identifier count
Sum room box counts.
Room index
Map each room name and code to its generated identifier range.
Symbols and units
- a
- Rooms: name, unique code, box count
- b
- Move label prefix
- c
- Minimum digit padding
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Creates a deterministic inventory label index only. It does not print labels, store personal addresses or claim global uniqueness across different moves with the same prefix.
