THE NUMBERS, EXPLAINED
How to use this calculator.
Annual session count is derived from the user’s actual term calendar; all sessions share the same fee and travel assumptions.
Start with your inputs
Enter annual sessions, session fee, travel cost per session, equipment cost per year, activity duration per session (h), travel time per session (h). Keep amounts in the units shown on each field. The example is a starting point, not a recommended value.
| Input | Example value |
|---|---|
| Annual sessions | 30 |
| Session fee | 10 |
| Travel cost per session | 4 |
| Equipment cost per year | 80 |
| Activity duration per session (h) | 1.5 |
| Travel time per session (h) | 0.5 |
A worked example
With the example inputs above, annual activity cash cost is 500. Change the inputs to explore your own scenario.
| Result | Example answer |
|---|---|
| Annual activity cash cost | 500 |
| Annual time commitment (h) | 60 |
| Total cash per attended session | 16.666667 |
How this is calculated
Annual activity cash cost
Multiply sessions by fee plus travel cost and add annual equipment.
Annual time commitment (h)
Multiply sessions by activity plus travel hours.
Total cash per attended session
Spread all annual cost over sessions, or return zero if none are scheduled.

Assumptions and limits
Annual session count is derived from the user’s actual term calendar; all sessions share the same fee and travel assumptions.
Calculations use the values you enter. Blank or invalid inputs show an error instead of silently substituting zero. Results are displayed to useful precision; calculations retain the underlying numeric precision.

What does the result tell me?
Annual activity cash cost; Annual time commitment (h); Total cash per attended session. The result applies to the method and inputs described above. Check the units and assumptions before using it in a decision.
Why might another calculator differ?
Differences in units, rounding, timing or model definitions can produce different answers. Compare the input definitions and the method, rather than only the final number. For this tool: Annual session count is derived from the user’s actual term calendar; all sessions share the same fee and travel assumptions.
Are my inputs stored or sent to AI?
Calculations on this page happen in your browser. The separate AI question finder sends its submitted conversation to OpenAI; these calculator fields are not sent. Favourites and recent tool names are stored locally. A shared link contains the inputs you choose to include.
