Commissioned artwork milestone billing calculator

Calculate dated cash ledger [date, net, cumulative balance] and maximum additional funding need with your own figures.

Your numbers

Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Choose the currency for these amounts. Changing it keeps your numbers and does not convert exchange rates.

Use dated cash ledger [date, net, cumulative balance] and maximum additional funding need to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Examples

Examples

Try the starting example

Milestone cash events [ISO date, signed currency]; enter JSON (USD)
[["2026-11-01",300],["2026-11-03",-400],["2026-11-10",500]]
Opening cash assigned to project (USD)
0
Dated cash ledger [date, net, cumulative balance] (JSON) (USD)
[["2026-11-01",300,300],["2026-11-03",-400,-100],["2026-11-10",500,400]]
Maximum additional funding need (USD)
$100.00
Closing cash balance (USD)
$400.00

Try another scenario

Milestone cash events [ISO date, signed currency]; enter JSON (USD)
[["2026-11-01",350],["2026-11-03",-600],["2026-11-12",700]]
Opening cash assigned to project (USD)
50
Dated cash ledger [date, net, cumulative balance] (JSON) (USD)
[["2026-11-01",350,400],["2026-11-03",-600,-200],["2026-11-12",700,500]]
Maximum additional funding need (USD)
$200.00
Closing cash balance (USD)
$500.00
Calculation method

Calculation method

Dated cash ledger [date, net, cumulative balance] (JSON) (USD)

Aggregate signed cash events by ISO date; add to opening cash in ascending date order.

Maximum additional funding need (USD)

max(0,−minimum of opening and daily closing balances).

Closing cash balance (USD)

Opening cash+sum signed cash events.

Symbols and units
a
Milestone cash events [ISO date, signed currency]; enter JSON (USD)
b
Opening cash assigned to project (USD)

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • Artwork deposits, approved milestone receipts, and material outlays are signed user-dated events; approval status must already determine receipt date. Supported limits: All numeric inputs and computed intermediates must remain finite. Supported numeric input magnitude is zero or 1e-12 through 1e12 in absolute value; reject values outside this bounded range. All lists/JSON record tables are limited to 100 records unless a stricter bound is stated; reject malformed record arity and wrong member types. Valid ISO dates; signed amounts finite; positive receipts, negative supplier/material payments. Events on the same day net together; intraday timing not modeled.
Are these inputs private?
