Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Use maximum general and red flash counts in a half-open one-second window and event-count review flag to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Examples

Examples

Try the starting example

Measured qualifying flash events [time seconds, affected area steradians,general0/1,red0/1]
[[0,0.003,1,0],[0.2,0.004,1,0],[0.4,0.004,1,1],[0.6,0.004,1,1]]
Method label
WCAG2.1 event-count worksheet; flash detection supplied
Maximum general and red flash counts in a half-open one-second window
[4,2]
Event-count review flag
Event count requires specialist review
Largest supplied affected event area (steradians)
0.004

Try another scenario

Measured qualifying flash events [time seconds, affected area steradians,general0/1,red0/1]
[[0,0.003,1,0],[0.4,0.004,1,0],[0.8,0.004,1,1],[1.2,0.004,1,1]]
Method label
WCAG2.1 event-count worksheet; flash detection supplied
Maximum general and red flash counts in a half-open one-second window
[3,2]
Event-count review flag
Event count alone does not establish conformance
Largest supplied affected event area (steradians)
0.004
Calculation method

Calculation method

Maximum general and red flash counts in a half-open one-second window

Sliding window counts independently by already-classified flash type; timestamps at exactly window end excluded.

Event-count review flag

Flag more than3 qualifying flashes in any one-second window. Area exceptions require concurrent spatial measurement and are not automatically certified.

Largest supplied affected event area (steradians)

Maximum event area, not combined concurrent area; no automatic safety or WCAG conformance determination.

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • Count user-supplied already-qualified general/red flash events under a declared WCAG2.1 event-count convention. Does not detect flashes from video, combine concurrent visual-field areas, apply red chromaticity tests, or certify safety/conformance. Quantities are deterministic calculations from supplied observations and assumptions; no external data is fetched. Supported limits: Finite inputs only; numeric fields bounded as labelled. Lists and JSON records are limited to 256 entries unless a stricter tool bound is stated. No automatic design approval, legal conclusion, treatment recommendation or safety certification.
