Calculation method
Calculation method
Total driving hours
Chronological nonoverlapping segments; driving accumulates until a supplied non-driving segment/gap≥minimum break; report against supplied caps.
Duty span (hours)
Chronological nonoverlapping segments; driving accumulates until a supplied non-driving segment/gap≥minimum break; report against supplied caps.
Driving-cap excess (hours)
Chronological nonoverlapping segments; driving accumulates until a supplied non-driving segment/gap≥minimum break; report against supplied caps.
Duty-span excess (hours)
Chronological nonoverlapping segments; driving accumulates until a supplied non-driving segment/gap≥minimum break; report against supplied caps.
Continuous-driving excess (hours)
Chronological nonoverlapping segments; driving accumulates until a supplied non-driving segment/gap≥minimum break; report against supplied caps.
Symbols and units
- a
- Duty segments JSON [[start hour,end hour,type0=qualifying break/1=driving],...]
- b
- User driving cap for this duty window (hours)
- c
- User maximum duty span (hours)
- d
- User maximum continuous driving (hours)
- e
- User minimum qualifying break (hours)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Only driving and user-declared qualifying-break segments in one duty window. Adjacent break segments/gaps combine; gaps are assumed qualifying rest. Other work, split-break credits across driving and rolling legal limits excluded. No statutory legality determination. Supported limits: All required fields must be finite values of the exact declared type and within displayed bounds. Lists contain1–1000 finite numbers. JSON tables are numeric rectangular rows, at most100 rows and30 columns; individual tools have stricter shape/domain constraints.
