Fleet maintenance downtime forecast calculator

Calculate service schedule [vehicle, bay, start day,end day,due status] and downtime inside horizon with your own figures.

Your numbers

Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Use service schedule [vehicle, bay, start day,end day,due status] and downtime inside horizon to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Calculation method

Calculation method

Service schedule [vehicle,bay,start day,end day,due status]

Sort by due day then vehicle ID. Append each job to earliest available bay respecting earliest start, tie bay index.

Downtime inside horizon (vehicle-days)

Sum intersection length of each scheduled service with [0,horizon).

Available vehicle-days inside horizon

fleetCount*horizon-downtime.

Gross fleet vehicle-days

fleetCount*horizon.

Symbols and units
a
Fleet vehicle IDs JSON
b
Forecast horizon (days)
c
Service jobs JSON [vehicle ID,earliest start day,due completion day, duration days]
d
Concurrent workshop bays (bays)

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • One service per vehicle within this bounded model, identical interchangeable workshop bays. Greedy earliest-due-date schedule; due completion flags descriptive and no service interval or roadworthiness rule inferred. Supported limits: 1..100 fleet IDs; <=1 job per known vehicle; integer 0<=release<=due; duration>0; horizon 1..366; bays 1..100.
