Examples
Try the starting example
- Demand locations [ID,x,y]
- [["A",0,0],["B",2,0],["C",9,0]]
- Facilities [ID,x,y,integer capacity]
- [["F1",0,0,1],["F2",10,0,2]]
- Greedy capacity-aware nearest assignments
- [["A","F1",0],["B","F2",8],["C","F2",1]]
- Unassigned locations
- []
Try another scenario
- Demand locations [ID,x,y]
- [["A",1,0],["B",3,0],["C",9,0]]
- Facilities [ID,x,y,integer capacity]
- [["F1",0,0,1],["F2",10,0,2]]
- Greedy capacity-aware nearest assignments
- [["A","F1",1],["B","F2",7],["C","F2",1]]
- Unassigned locations

Calculation method
Calculation method
Greedy capacity-aware nearest assignments
Process demand input order; choose nearest Euclidean facility with remaining capacity, tie by facility input order.
Unassigned locations
Explicit overflow IDs; greedy assignment does not minimize global total travel.
Symbols and units
- a
- Demand locations [ID,x,y]
- b
- Facilities [ID,x,y,integer capacity]
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Locations, supplied distance metric, capacities. Returns Feasible nearest assignments and overflow. All coefficients and observations are user supplied; results describe only the stated mathematical model. Quantities are deterministic calculations from supplied observations and assumptions; no external data is fetched. Supported limits: Finite inputs only; numeric fields bounded as labelled. Lists and JSON records are limited to 256 entries unless a stricter tool bound is stated. No automatic design approval, legal conclusion, treatment recommendation or safety certification.
