GIS zonal raster coverage calculator

Calculate zone coverage summaries with your own figures.

Your numbers

Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Use zone coverage summaries to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Examples

Examples

Try the starting example

Raster cells [zone ID,value, valid mask 0/1]
[[1,10,1],[1,20,1],[1,0,0],[2,5,1]]
Cell area (m²)
100
Zone coverage summaries
[[1,3,2,200,0.666666666667,15],[2,1,1,100,1,5]]

Try another scenario

Raster cells [zone ID,value, valid mask 0/1]
[[1,10,1],[1,20,1],[1,0,0],[2,5,1]]
Cell area (m²)
50
Zone coverage summaries
[[1,3,2,100,0.666666666667,15],[2,1,1,50,1,5]]

Zone coverage summaries

[zone, total cells, valid cells, valid area, valid fraction, valid mean or no data]; invalid masks excluded from statistics.

Symbols and units
a
Raster cells [zone ID,value, valid mask 0/1]
b
Cell area (m²)

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • Raster masks, zone cells, missing-data policy. Returns Valid coverage and zone summaries. All coefficients and observations are user supplied; results describe only the stated mathematical model. Quantities are deterministic calculations from supplied observations and assumptions; no external data is fetched. Supported limits: Finite inputs only; numeric fields bounded as labelled. Lists and JSON records are limited to 256 entries unless a stricter tool bound is stated. No automatic design approval, legal conclusion, treatment recommendation or safety certification. Cell area (m²): minimum 1e-12, maximum 1000000000000.0.
