Examples
Examples
Try the starting example
- Transactions [item count, basket value currency]; enter JSON (USD)
- [[5,10],[10,25],[20,40],[8,16]]
- Large basket threshold (items)
- 10
- Mean basket items
- 10.75
- Mean basket value (USD)
- $22.75
- Large basket fraction
- 0.5
- Median basket value (USD)
- $20.50
Try another scenario
- Transactions [item count, basket value currency]; enter JSON (USD)
- [[3,8],[12,30],[25,60]]
- Large basket threshold (items)
- 12
- Mean basket items
- 13.333333
- Mean basket value (USD)
- $32.67
- Large basket fraction
- 0.666667
- Median basket value (USD)
- $30.00
Calculation method
Calculation method
Mean basket items
Mean entered item counts.
Mean basket value (USD)
Mean transaction values.
Large basket fraction
Count(item count>=threshold)/transaction count.
Median basket value (USD)
Median entered values.
Symbols and units
- a
- Transactions [item count, basket value currency]; enter JSON (USD)
- b
- Large basket threshold (items)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Descriptive transaction sample; user threshold defines large baskets. Supported limits: All numeric inputs and computed intermediates must remain finite. Supported numeric input magnitude is zero or 1e-12 through 1e12 in absolute value; reject values outside this bounded range. All lists/JSON record tables are limited to 100 records unless a stricter bound is stated; reject malformed record arity and wrong member types. All numeric values must be finite. Lists contain at most 100 records; required lists must be nonempty. Rates, probabilities and fractions are entered as fractions, not percentages; fractions must be between 0 and 1. Use a single consistent user-selected currency for all amounts; no exchange-rate conversion.
