Examples
Examples
Try the starting example
- Initial perishable stock (units)
- 50
- Markdown stages [unit price currency, expected unit demand]; enter JSON (USD)
- [[2,20],[1.5,20],[1,15]]
- Stage sales and revenue (JSON) (USD)
- [[1,2,20,40],[2,1.5,20,30],[3,1,10,10]]
- Total modeled revenue (USD)
- $80.00
- Final expired units
- 0
Try another scenario
- Initial perishable stock (units)
- 60
- Markdown stages [unit price currency, expected unit demand]; enter JSON (USD)
- [[2.2,15],[1.5,20],[0.8,10]]
- Stage sales and revenue (JSON) (USD)
- [[1,2.2,15,33],[2,1.5,20,30],[3,0.8,10,8]]
- Total modeled revenue (USD)
- $71.00
- Final expired units
- 15
Calculation method
Calculation method
Stage sales and revenue (JSON) (USD)
Sequentially sell min(remaining stock,stage demand); revenue=sold×price.
Total modeled revenue (USD)
Sum rounded stage revenues.
Final expired units
Initial stock−sum units sold.
Symbols and units
- a
- Initial perishable stock (units)
- b
- Markdown stages [unit price currency, expected unit demand]; enter JSON (USD)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Demand responses are entered quantities for each price stage. Unsold stock expires after final stage; no elasticity fitted. Supported limits: All numeric inputs and computed intermediates must remain finite. Supported numeric input magnitude is zero or 1e-12 through 1e12 in absolute value; reject values outside this bounded range. All lists/JSON record tables are limited to 100 records unless a stricter bound is stated; reject malformed record arity and wrong member types. All numeric values must be finite. Lists contain at most 100 records; required lists must be nonempty. Rates, probabilities and fractions are entered as fractions, not percentages; fractions must be between 0 and 1. Use a single consistent user-selected currency for all amounts; no exchange-rate conversion.
