Examples
Examples
Try the starting example
- Demands [wagon type,shipment tonnes,capacity tonnes/wagon]; enter JSON
- [["Box",25,10],["Tank",12,8],["Box",6,10]]
- Session duration (hours)
- 2
- Wagons required by type (JSON)
- {"Box":4,"Tank":2}
- Wagons handled per session hour
- 3
Try another scenario
- Demands [wagon type,shipment tonnes,capacity tonnes/wagon]; enter JSON
- [["Box",32,10],["Tank",20,8]]
- Session duration (hours)
- 3
- Wagons required by type (JSON)
- {"Box":4,"Tank":3}
- Wagons handled per session hour
- 2.333333
Calculation method
Calculation method
Wagons required by type (JSON)
For each row ceil(shipment/capacity), then sum counts by type.
Wagons handled per session hour
Sum row whole-wagon requirements/session duration.
Symbols and units
- a
- Demands [wagon type,shipment tonnes,capacity tonnes/wagon]; enter JSON
- b
- Session duration (hours)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Shipment mass divided into whole wagons independently per industry and type; no wagon reuse inside a session. Supported limits: All numeric inputs and computed intermediates must remain finite. Supported numeric input magnitude is zero or 1e-12 through 1e12 in absolute value; reject values outside this bounded range. All lists/JSON record tables are limited to 100 records unless a stricter bound is stated; reject malformed record arity and wrong member types. All capacity tonnes/wagon >0; shipments>=0; session>0.
