- One supplier’s items: SKU, needed units, pack units, unit price $, maximum extra packs beyond minimum needed packs
- A,3,5,2,2 B,4,4,5,1
- Supplier minimum merchandise cash ($)
- 60
- Exact bounded-search status
- optimal
- Order units by SKU
- A: 10; B: 8
- Smallest merchandise outlay meeting minimum ($)
- $60.00
- Spend above minimum-needed-pack baseline ($)
- $30.00
- Ordered units beyond supplied needs
- 11
- Shortfall even at maximum allowed purchase ($)
- $0.00
Calculation method
Calculation method
Exact bounded-search status
Search all reachable extra-pack subtotals for at most ten SKUs and twenty extra packs per SKU, capped at 20000 states.
Order units by SKU
Start with ceil(need/pack) packs, then add the chosen bounded extra packs.
Smallest merchandise outlay meeting minimum ($)
Minimise exact-cent merchandise outlay subject to supplier minimum. Equal outlay retains first input enumeration.
Spend above minimum-needed-pack baseline ($)
Chosen outlay−baseline merchandise cost.
Ordered units beyond supplied needs
Sum ordered−needed units, without treating different SKUs as equivalent utility.
Shortfall even at maximum allowed purchase ($)
If infeasible, minimum−maximum allowed cash; no fake order is returned.
Symbols and units
- a
- One supplier’s items: SKU, needed units, pack units, unit price $, maximum extra packs beyond minimum needed packs
- b
- Supplier minimum merchandise cash ($)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- An exact bounded merchandise-cost consolidation under approved extra-pack limits. It does not infer future demand, storage suitability or permission to overbuy, and it never places a purchase order.
