Procurement spend concentration calculator

Calculate supplier positive-net-spend HHI and parent-group positive-net-spend HHI with your own figures.

Your numbers

Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Choose the currency for these amounts. Changing it keeps your numbers and does not convert exchange rates.

Use supplier positive-net-spend HHI and parent-group positive-net-spend HHI to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Calculation method

Calculation method

Supplier positive-net-spend HHI

Aggregate each supplier net amount, clip negative net positions to zero for weights, then sum squared normalized positive-net shares.

Parent-group positive-net-spend HHI

Aggregate supplier net amounts to supplied parent groups first, then clip negative parent positions and compute HHI. Parent/supplier positive denominators can therefore differ.

Largest positive-net parent share (%)

Maximum normalized positive-net parent weight×100.

Suppliers with net credit positions

List suppliers whose aggregated net spend is below zero; credits remain visible in net totals.

Total signed net spend ($)

Sum all signed net amounts.

Signed net spend by category ($)

Aggregate signed records by supplied category, independent of concentration weighting.

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • A descriptive supplied-parent net-spend concentration audit. It does not verify corporate ownership, assess creditworthiness or recommend a supplier strategy. Negative positions are not silently used as negative HHI weights.
