Examples
Try the starting example
- JSON Groups [group ID,integer sample count]
- [["A",3],["B",2]]
- Code prefix
- S
- Deterministic random seed (integer)
- 42
- Original-to-coded key
- [["A-1","S0004"],["A-2","S0002"],["A-3","S0003"],["B-1","S0005"],["B-2","S0001"]]
- Coded labels required
- 5
Try another scenario
- JSON Groups [group ID,integer sample count]
- [["A",4],["B",3]]
- Code prefix
- S
- Deterministic random seed (integer)
- 42
- Original-to-coded key
- [["A-1","S0002"],["A-2","S0004"],["A-3","S0005"],["A-4","S0003"],["B-1","S0007"],["B-2","S0001"],["B-3","S0006"]]
- Coded labels required
- 7
Calculation method
Calculation method
Original-to-coded key
Expand group/sample IDs, make sequential codes prefix0001 onward, shuffle codes with Python Random(seed), and zip.
Coded labels required
Total sample count.
Symbols and units
- a
- JSON Groups [group ID,integer sample count]
- b
- Code prefix
- c
- Deterministic random seed (integer)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Reproducible logistics labels and explicit key mapping. This tool exposes the key; it is not concealment/security certification and must be separated from blinded readers by user workflow. Supported limits: At most 1000 samples, unique nonempty group IDs and prefix. Seed integer 0–4294967295; Python-compatible integer-seeded MT19937 and rejection-sampled randrange are specified for reproducibility, not secrecy.
