- Show probability for each one-seat booking
- 0.8,0.9,0.5
- Available seats (count)
- 2
- Attendance distribution by seated count (JSON)
- [0.01,0.14,0.49,0.36]
- Overflow probability
- 0.36
- Expected excess attendees
- 0.36
Try another scenario
- Show probability for each one-seat booking
- 0.9,0.9,0.8,0.5
- Available seats (count)
- 3
- Attendance distribution by seated count (JSON)
- [0.001,0.023,0.175,0.477,0.324]
- Overflow probability
- 0.324
- Expected excess attendees
- 0.324
Calculation method
Calculation method
Attendance distribution by seated count (JSON)
Start [1]; convolve each probability p with [1−p,p]. Index is attendee count.
Overflow probability
Sum distribution probabilities for attendee count>seats.
Expected excess attendees
Sum max(0,count−seats)×probability.
Symbols and units
- a
- Show probability for each one-seat booking
- b
- Available seats (count)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Independent Bernoulli shows by one-seat booking; multi-seat correlated parties unsupported. Supported limits: All numeric inputs and computed intermediates must remain finite. Supported numeric input magnitude is zero or 1e-12 through 1e12 in absolute value; reject values outside this bounded range. All lists/JSON record tables are limited to 100 records unless a stricter bound is stated; reject malformed record arity and wrong member types. 1..100 one-seat independent booking probabilities in [0,1]; integer seats>=0.
