Calculation method
Calculation method
Selected counts under opposite-equal-pair model
Enumerate inventory-limited pairs of equal mass. Minimize exact absolute target total-mass difference, then lower total mass, retaining input order ties.
Modeled average selected mass (g)
Total selected mass/required roller count.
Selected average minus supplied target (g)
Signed average difference; no performance target is inferred.
Mass of each modeled opposite pair member (g)
Each listed mass represents both members of one hypothetical opposite pair, not an installation order.
Unselected stock counts by mass type
Supplied available rollers−selected rollers; odd leftover units are retained in stock.
Symbols and units
- a
- Inventory: ID, distinct roller mass g, available whole rollers; combine equal masses
- b
- Even required roller count, two to twelve
- c
- Supplied target average roller mass g
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- An explicit equal-mass opposite-pair inventory model, not a complete CVT balancing model, arrangement instruction or tuning recommendation. Roller dimensions, compatibility, manufacturer arrangement rules and actual dynamic behavior are external.
