Calculation method
Calculation method
Least-squares station easting (m)
Intersect three oriented bearing rays by least squares of line normals; reject rank-deficient control geometry.
Station northing (m)
Intersect three oriented bearing rays by least squares of line normals; reject rank-deficient control geometry.
Maximum cross-track residual (m)
Intersect three oriented bearing rays by least squares of line normals; reject rank-deficient control geometry.
Symbols and units
- a
- Controls JSON [[east m,north m,bearing FROM unknown station degrees],...]
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Absolute oriented bearings from unknown station are required. This is not free-station angular resection with unknown orientation. Supported limits: All required fields must be finite values of the exact declared type and within displayed bounds. Lists contain1–1000 finite numbers. JSON tables are numeric rectangular rows, at most100 rows and30 columns; individual tools have stricter shape/domain constraints. Absolute oriented bearings from unknown station are required. This is not free-station angular resection with unknown orientation.
