Tour language demand allocation calculator

Calculate language tour splits [slot, language, tours, covered, uncovered] and uncovered people with your own figures.

Your numbers

Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Use language tour splits [slot, language, tours, covered, uncovered] and uncovered people to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Examples

Examples

Try the starting example

Demand [slot,language,booked people]; enter JSON
[["AM","EN",35],["AM","FR",12],["PM","EN",15]]
Supply [slot, language, guides, people per guide]; enter JSON
[["AM","EN",2,20],["AM","FR",1,15],["PM","EN",1,20]]
Language tour splits [slot,language,tours,covered,uncovered] (JSON)
[["AM","EN",2,35,0],["AM","FR",1,12,0],["PM","EN",1,15,0]]
Uncovered people (count)
0

Try another scenario

Demand [slot,language,booked people]; enter JSON
[["AM","EN",45],["AM","FR",20],["PM","EN",25]]
Supply [slot, language, guides, people per guide]; enter JSON
[["AM","EN",2,20],["AM","FR",1,15],["PM","EN",1,20]]
Language tour splits [slot,language,tours,covered,uncovered] (JSON)
[["AM","EN",2,40,5],["AM","FR",1,15,5],["PM","EN",1,20,5]]
Uncovered people (count)
15
Calculation method

Calculation method

Language tour splits [slot,language,tours,covered,uncovered] (JSON)

Match exact slot/language supply; tours=min(guides,ceil(demand/per-guide)); covered=min(demand,guides×per-guide); none if missing supply.

Uncovered people (count)

Sum demand above exact matching supplied language capacity.

Symbols and units
a
Demand [slot,language,booked people]; enter JSON
b
Supply [slot, language, guides, people per guide]; enter JSON

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • Independent fixed time slots and language-specific guide capacities; no guide sharing between slots unless entered separately. Supported limits: All numeric inputs and computed intermediates must remain finite. Supported numeric input magnitude is zero or 1e-12 through 1e12 in absolute value; reject values outside this bounded range. All lists/JSON record tables are limited to 100 records unless a stricter bound is stated; reject malformed record arity and wrong member types. All numeric values must be finite. Lists contain at most 100 records; required lists must be nonempty. Rates, probabilities and fractions are entered as fractions, not percentages; fractions must be between 0 and 1. Use a single consistent user-selected currency for all amounts; no exchange-rate conversion.
Are these inputs private?
