Try another scenario
- Toy group IDs JSON in user rotation order
- ["blocks","puzzles","cars","craft"]
- Display shelf capacity (groups)
- 3
- Rotation interval (days)
- 7
- Number of rotation periods (periods)
- 4
- Rotation schedule [start day,end day, visible group IDs]
- [[0,7,["blocks","puzzles","cars"]],[7,14,["craft","blocks","puzzles"]],[14,21,["cars","craft","blocks"]],[21,28,["puzzles","cars","craft"]]]
- Minimum off-display storage capacity (groups)
- 1
- Time for one nominal pass through groups (days)
- 14
Calculation method
Calculation method
Rotation schedule [start day,end day, visible group IDs]
At period k display up to shelfCapacity distinct groups, starting at (k*capacity) mod groupCount, wrapping circularly.
Minimum off-display storage capacity (groups)
max(0,totalGroups-displayCapacity).
Time for one nominal pass through groups (days)
ceil(groupCount/capacity)*interval.
Symbols and units
- a
- Toy group IDs JSON in user rotation order
- b
- Display shelf capacity (groups)
- c
- Rotation interval (days)
- d
- Number of rotation periods (periods)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Equal-sized shelf-group model with round-robin rotation; no developmental or age judgments. Slots count groups, not cubic volume. Supported limits: 1..100 unique groups; capacity integer 1..100; interval>0; periods 1..100; repeated wrapped groups are suppressed within a period.
