Calculation method
Calculation method
Ending units
Apply purchases and issues in entered order; reject any negative-stock event.
Ending inventory carrying value ($)
Add purchase units×cost; subtract each cent-rounded proportional issue cost. A full depletion removes all carrying value.
Moving-average ending unit cost ($)
Ending carrying value/ending quantity; undefined when empty.
Total cost of issued units ($)
Sum allocated issue costs, using current carrying value/quantity before each issue.
Event closing quantity and value
Show each event’s ending quantity and exact-cent carrying value.

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- A single-item perpetual moving-average ledger with whole units and no returns, negative stock or extra landed costs. Cent rounding is explicit and can differ from systems carrying more internal precision.
