Calculation method
Calculation method
Permit count used for each separate date
Choose available same-date permits from largest capacity downward until group placed or inventory exhausted. With pooled unconstrained places this minimizes permit count when full placement is possible.
People assigned to each selected permit, by date
Fill chosen permits up to their supplied capacity; last permit may be partial.
Unplaced people by date
max(0,people−total same-date available places).
Unused supplied same-date permit capacity
All supplied same-date places−placed people, including unselected permits.
Dates with enough supplied modeled places
List dates with zero unplaced people; no cross-date combination is allowed.
Symbols and units
- a
- People to place on one chosen date
- b
- Permit slots: ID, date, supplied people per permit, available permits
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- A supplied same-date capacity/allocation model. It does not fetch permits, check legal party limits, combine permissions or make bookings; pooling and party splitting must already be explicitly permitted by the supplied rules.
