Calculation method
Calculation method
Normalized preference fulfillment by assigned employee (%)
Employee’s assigned preference points/(assignment count×maximum points)×100.
Assignment-weighted preference fulfillment (%)
Total awarded preference points/(assignment count×maximum)×100.
Employee-weighted mean fulfillment (%)
Average normalized fulfillment among employees with assignments.
Minimum assigned-employee fulfillment (%)
Smallest normalized assigned-employee fulfillment.
Gini coefficient of assigned-employee fulfillment
Sum all ordered pairwise absolute differences/(2×n×sum fulfillment); zero when all values are zero.
Employees with no supplied assignment
List preference-table employees excluded from satisfaction summaries because no assignment was supplied.
Symbols and units
- a
- Supplied preference points: employee, shift label, points
- b
- Assignments: record ID, employee, shift label
- c
- Maximum preference points per assignment
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- A descriptive audit of already supplied assignments and explicit preference scores. It does not create a rota, infer preferences, assess protected traits or declare an allocation fair.
