Ecommerce preorder allocation calculator

Calculate projected complete-allocation date by order and unallocated units by order with your own figures.

Your numbers

Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Use projected complete-allocation date by order and unallocated units by order to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Calculation method

Calculation method

Projected complete-allocation date by order

Process lower priority numbers first, tie by order input; consume same-SKU batches in arrival/input order. Completion is the last assigned batch date, or Incomplete when short.

Unallocated units by order

Order quantity−allocated quantity, without reallocating another order.

Days beyond promise for fully allocated orders

max(0,completion−promise), or explicitly unknown for an incomplete order.

Total units allocated

Sum allocated units across orders.

Batch allocation trace

Show order/batch unit assignments, allowing an order to span multiple incoming batches.

Symbols and units
a
Incoming batches: batch ID, SKU, arrival date, units; or none
b
Orders: order ID, SKU, units, priority number ascending, promise date

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • A deterministic projected allocation from supplied arrival dates and priorities. It does not reserve stock, send orders, predict supplier delivery or infer a lawful customer priority.
