Calculation method
Calculation method
Remaining pledged face value ($)
Sum pledge−already collected, rejecting over-collected rows.
Probability-weighted future collection ($)
Sum each remaining face×supplied collection probability, rounded per row to US cents.
Expected cash after each dated collection ($)
Sort supplied future dates and add expected row receipts to entered opening cash; same-day rows retain input order.
Previously collected amounts in pledge records ($)
Show historical collections separately; do not add them again to opening cash.
Symbols and units
- a
- Pledges: name, expected remaining-payment date, total pledge $, already collected $, supplied chance of remaining collection %
- b
- Opening cash, already including any receipts you choose ($)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- An expected-value scenario using probabilities and dates you supply. It does not predict donor payment, recognize pledge revenue or treat an expected receipt as available cash.
