Try the starting example
- JSON Groups [group ID,integer assignments per complete block]
- [["A",2],["B",2]]
- Complete blocks (count)
- 3
- Deterministic random seed (integer)
- 42
- Assignment schedule by block
- [["B","A","B","A"],["B","B","A","A"],["A","B","B","A"]]
- Total assignments by group
- {"A":6,"B":6}
Try another scenario
- JSON Groups [group ID,integer assignments per complete block]
- [["A",2],["B",2]]
- Complete blocks (count)
- 4
- Deterministic random seed (integer)
- 42
- Assignment schedule by block
- [["B","A","B","A"],["B","B","A","A"],["A","B","B","A"],["A","B","A","B"]]
- Total assignments by group
- {"A":8,"B":8}
Calculation method
Calculation method
Assignment schedule by block
Expand supplied ratios within each block; independently shuffle each with Python Random(seed).
Total assignments by group
Count realized assignments across complete blocks.
Symbols and units
- a
- JSON Groups [group ID,integer assignments per complete block]
- b
- Complete blocks (count)
- c
- Deterministic random seed (integer)
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- Complete permuted blocks with supplied allocation ratios. No clinical recommendation or allocation concealment guarantee; no partial blocks. Supported limits: 1–100 blocks, total assignments≤1000; positive integer group ratios. Seed integer 0–4294967295; Python-compatible integer-seeded MT19937 and rejection-sampled randrange are specified for reproducibility, not secrecy.
