Calculation method
Calculation method
Rounded-up desk demand by scenario/zone
Round each team’s people×attendance share upward, then sum teams within each zone.
Excess desk demand by scenario/zone
max(0,scenario-zone demand−usable desks).
Total desk demand by scenario
Sum the scenario’s zone demands.
Total excess demand by scenario
Sum positive zone shortages, without offsetting spare desks in another zone.
Largest zone utilization across supplied scenarios (%)
Maximum demand/zone desks×100; positive demand in a zero-desk zone is explicitly undefined.
Symbols and units
- a
- Teams: name, zone, whole people
- b
- Zones: name, usable desks
- c
- Scenario rows: scenario, team, attendance share %; include each team once per scenario
Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.
Assumptions & limits
Assumptions & limits
- A declared attendance-share scenario with team-level ceiling rounding, not an occupancy forecast or a building safety-capacity determination. Desks in different zones are not automatically interchangeable.
