Support channel cost allocation calculator

Calculate entered cost by channel and cost per resolved interaction by channel with your own figures.

Your numbers

Use the units shown. Results update as you change valid inputs.

Choose the currency for these amounts. Changing it keeps your numbers and does not convert exchange rates.

Use entered cost by channel and cost per resolved interaction by channel to compare changes to your inputs. The method and limits below explain the scope.

Calculation method

Calculation method

Entered cost by channel ($)

Cent-rounded labour minutes×hourly rate/60+entered platform cost.

Cost per resolved interaction by channel ($)

Channel cost/resolved interaction count; undefined for zero resolved units.

Total resolved interaction units

Sum disjoint resolved units under the supplied convention.

Total entered channel cost ($)

Sum channel labour/platform costs, including work on unresolved interactions.

Blended cost per resolved interaction ($)

Total cost/total resolved units, rather than the unweighted average of channel ratios.

Symbols and units

Channels: name, contacts, resolved interaction units, labour minutes, $/hour, platform cash cost $

Use the units shown. A list keeps the order in which you enter its values. The symbol ^ means “raised to the power of”.

Assumptions & limits

Assumptions & limits

  • A denominator-aware channel cost comparison in one currency, using already defined contact/resolution units. It does not allocate shared overhead or infer cost savings from switching channels.
